The Diamant hike is a 75-minute walk around a beach-lined peninsula on St. Pierre island. Evidence of rum runners, wars and indigenous peoples weave together to tell a fascinating history of a place that is quite unique. Museums, like the Heritage Museum, bring the islands' history to life with relics and storytellers. Local shops, such as La Maison du Cadeau, offer home decorating goods, gourmet foods and souvenirs that show the islands' history as part of their rich culture, and allow you to bring some of that culture back home.
Saint Pierre is a fishing town, and seafood is king. Prepared by chefs trained in the French tradition, the freshest of fish is sure to delight you. If you prefer something other than seafood, handmade crepes and pastries might be more to your liking.
